What’s your Skin Type?
What kind of skin do you have? Dry, oily, combination or normal? Once you know what kind of skin you have, you can learn how to take care of it. If you’re not sure, here is a simple test.
Wash your face with plain, non-gel shaving cream. Rinse. Wait about three hours so that your skin can revert to its regular self. Then take tissue paper and press on your face.
It is sticks, leaving an oily spot that’s visible when you hold it up to the light; you’ve got oily skin. If it doesn’t stick, your skin is dry. If it sticks, but doesn’t leave oily spots…your skin is normal. If the paper sticks on some areas, leaving oily spots, and doesn’t stick on other areas, you have combination skin.
Before and after the masks:
Always wash your face before applying a face mask. When washing use tepid water. Either very hot or very cold water could break the small capillaries-those little red squiggly veins-in your face. When cleansing off mask again wash with tepid water and end with a splash of cold water to close the pores. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel and apply a moisturizer this way you seal your skin to keep the water inside.
