Kicking the Cough- Cayenne/Honey/Garlic

My little girl spent the night coughing - I hate this time of year that those dang viruses are out to get us-they aren't staying for long in my house though! I looked around for a cough drop-but I was out of them-need to make up another batch and soon! Anyway, gave her a spoonfull of my favorite honey, garlic and cayenne mixture and worked like a charm. Coughing was gone for 2 hours!
It would have been gone for longer but she is only 6 and Cheyenne is strong so I thought I would be a good mom and ease her into it and not use that much Cheyenne. (later realized she could have handled more)

Later that day, instead of eating lunch with us she sat on the couch eating the rest of the cayenne mixture so it must not have been too bad. =)

Here is the recipe again:
1 clove of Garlic- pressed
a little honey to cover the garlic
pinch of cayenne

mix together on a plate-try this before you give it to your children to make sure the cayenne isn't too strong. Take a big spoonful and swallow - My little 6 year old says its hot and usually wants a drink of water but knows I will not give it to her for a minimum of 20 mins. to alow the healing process.
Remember: Honey coats the throat- Garlic acts as a natural antibiotic and the Cayenne brings the blood to the area.
